The potential of neuromodulation (or
nerve stimulation) to treat a variety of diseases, such as, chronic
pain or depression, is becoming widely appreciated. The field
is one of the fastest growing areas of medical technology. In most
applications the technical principle is the same: a pacemaker-type
device known as an Implantable Pulse Generator (IPG), delivers
a precise pattern of stimulation via the appropriate nerve pathway
to achieve the desired effect.
Please note
that the use of this IPG, and its related components, in the
Leptos therapy for obesity, is investigational only. It is not
approved for this use in any country and, specifically, is LIMITED
BY LAW TO INVESTIGATIONAL USE IN THE USA. Please refer to the Patient
Information section of this web site for information about our
clinical trials and to the Contact Us section if you wish to know
more about
Leptos and our obesity therapy.
